Love

Love in its truest and purest form, brings out the best in us. No wonder in scripture or certain texts it reads, "God is Love." Love is a power that connects us to our higher self, it is a higher power, it calls us to expand in our divinity.

Love is one of the things most if not all living things desire-- we all want to be loved. Shug, in the book/movie The Color Purple when referring to love: "Yeah, Celie. Everything wanna be loved. Us sing and dance, and holla just wanting to be loved. Look at them trees. Notice how the trees do everything people do to get attention... except walk?" However, we have to understand balance when working with power (love in this case). Power can work for or against us. Take for instance, our desire to be loved-- it can lead us down a certain path if we haven't cultivated the love we desire from outside of us, first within. Our desire to be loved can lead us down a different path when we tap in to and live from the love that is already a part of our nature.

Love is an unconditional energy. Watch yourself when you decide to mess with it-- loving unconditionally has different looks, it does not have to mean only "either-or," it can also mean "both-and." We can love people and tell them "no." We can love people and walk away from situations that are not loving. We can love and show patience and compassion. We can still love when friendships change.

Take some time to think about the power of Love in your life and how it can be expanded; how you can use it to come more in to the truth of yourself. Take some time to think about what you expect from others as it pertains to love, and if you first expect to meet this within yourself.

Be well! 🧡
